When is the check-in / check-out time?: For Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan, check-in is 2:00 pm and check-out is 10:00 am.
For Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan, check-in is 3:00 pm and check-out is 10:00 am.
Can I pay by credit card?: Yes, credit cards can be used. Accepted credit cards are listed below. VISA, JCB, American Express, Diner's Club, UC, DC, NICOS, Master Card, Debit Card, Saisoncard and UFJ
Is the ryokan barrier-free?: We have rental wheelchairs available. Please book it in advance.
Are there any non-smoking rooms?: Smoking is prohibited in the communal area. As of the rooms, the “Kachouen” is a non-smoking room. However, all rooms in the annex can be arranged as smoking rooms. Upon request, we will arrange a non-smoking room which is odor free.
Are there western-style beds? If not, how are we going to sleep?: The guests will be sleeping with the traditional Japanese “futon” in the rooms. There are two types of futon, one is a mattress for a person to lie on and the other is a duvet for the person to cover the body. Since they are very easy to carry around, we only provide them during the evening. This makes it possible for you to make use of the whole room in the afternoon.
When do I remove my shoes?: You will have to remove them once at the entrance of Kachouen. We will then provide guest slippers for the hallway. However, you will have to remove them before you enter the room. You are allowed to keep your shoes on while you go to your room in the annex. You will have to remove them before you enter the room.
Where do we have our meal?: You can either dine in a private room at the Japanese restaurant or enjoy the Kaiseki meal in your own room at Kachouen. Please make your request in advance. A choice of either Japanese or Western style breakfast is offered in a private room at the Japanese restaurant. The dinner served in the annex will be the Kaiseki meal offered in your rooms. A Japanese style breakfast will be offered in the breakfast hall.
When does dinner start and end?: Dinner will be from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Are there services for people with allergies?: We will do our best to fulfill your wishes as much as possible. Please contact us in advance.
Are there meals for children?: Yes, we can arrange it according to the age. For more information, please contact us.
I am a vegetarian. Are there vegetarian meals?: Yes. We have meals for vegetarians so please contact us beforehand..
When can we take a bath?: The huge bath house is open till 12am. The relaxing room is open till 11pm. The next morning, Kochouen will be open from 6am till 10am, the annex is open from 5am till 9am and the relaxing room is open from 6am till 10am.
Can a pregnant woman use the bath?: We recommend that pregnant women don't use the bath.
Do you have a special rule for taking a bath?: In Japan, there are rules such as not washing in the bathtub, not wearing a swimsuit and not taking pictures.

Do you have internet connections?: Free laptop computers rentals are available at the lobby with internet connection. LAN access is also available to connect your own pc.
When is the souvenir shop open?: It is open from 7:00 am - 9:30 pm.
Can we bring in food and drinks?: No, we usually do not allow food and drinks to be brought in.
Is there a pickup service?: A pick up service is provided according to our guests arrival at JR Takayama Station, (Takayama Bus Center). Pick up request can be made on the day but to avoid waiting, we advise our guests to contact us prior to the arrival.
Are there any parking spaces?: Parking is available without making a reservation. It is provided free of cost.
I cannot speak Japanese. How can I communicate with your staff?: Even though they are not native speakers, we have staff who can speak English at the front desk. Therefore, please come or call to the front desk.
Can we have our luggage taken care of before check-in and after check-out?: Yes, we will take care of your luggage at the front desk before check-in and after check-out.
Is there a closing time?: Since there is no curfew, all guests are free to go in and out of the hotel. (The automatic door will switch to manual from 12 midnight till early morning).
